Commentary on the Nṛsiṃhapūrvatāpanī Upaniṣad
नृसिंहपूर्वतापनीयोपनिषद्भाष्य
A commentary on a late Vaiṣṇava Upaniṣad devoted to Nṛsiṃha, the man-lion avatar, and to meditation on his mantra. Its inclusion among Śaṅkara’s works shows how the Advaita school absorbed sectarian texts under its founder’s name.

Authorship note
Traditionally ascribed to Śaṅkara and included in the Vani Vilas edition of his complete works (a29); modern scholarship, since Hacker and Mayeda, accepts as authentic only the major commentaries and the Upadeśasāhasrī, so this work is recorded as attributed. Vani Vilas printed it in the last volume of the Upaniṣad commentaries, after the Bṛhadāraṇyaka. Spanish title descriptive.
