Avadhūta Gītā (Song of the Liberated One)
अवधूतगीता (Avadhūtagītā)

A Sanskrit poem in eight chapters, of some 289 verses according to Rigopoulos, in which the liberated one speaks in the first person, recognising himself as identical with the formless Self. It opens by asking how one can salute what fills everything, denies any difference between self and world, teacher and disciple, castes and genders, and sings the state of "equal taste" (samarasa) and the "nectar of the natural" (sahaja). It has been an essential text for the Nāth yogins and for readers of modern Vedānta.

Authorship note
Ascribed to Dattātreya by tradition and by its own colophon (8.10). Real author unknown; Grimes and Abhayananda date it to around the ninth or tenth century, and Rigopoulos places it probably in the Deccan, with chapter VIII as a later addition.
