Attar zugeschrieben

«Boundless praise to that pure God who gave faith to a handful of dust.»

Urteil

Es steht nicht im Werk von Attar

Opening couplet of the *Pand-nama*, which imitates the beginning of the *Mantiq al-tayr*. Ritter considers it apocryphal: there is no trace of the work before the fifteenth century and its language is alien to Attar's, although it was the first work 'of his' translated in Europe (Silvestre de Sacy, 1819).
