Ordenanzas de una cofradía

Retrato de Santa Teresa de Jesús por fray Juan de la Miseria (1576)
byTeresa of Ávila

A very short rule of ten articles for the confraternity of Our Lady of the Rosary at Calvarrasa de Arriba, near Salamanca, preserved in the confraternity's own old register. It is listed here as a spurious work so that readers know why it is absent from current critical editions.

Authorship note

An attribution now rejected. The text claims to have been ordered by Teresa in 1571; Andrés de la Encarnación (18th century) held it authentic without publishing it, Vicente de la Fuente rejected it in 1861 and Efrén de la Madre de Dios printed it as authentic in the 1950s and 1960s; later editions omit it. The English title is descriptive.
