Teresa of Ávila
A Satirical Critique
Written work
A Satirical Critique
Vejamen

A brief piece of courtly humour in which Teresa roasts four men, including John of the Cross, whom she reproaches that 'it would be very bad if we could seek God only when we were dead to the world'. It shows her wit and her freedom of judgement before learned men.
