Hierarchy

Иерархия

Helena Roerich en Naggar, hacia 1940
byHelena Roerich

A book devoted to the principle of Hierarchy: the chain of masters that, according to the teaching, guides human evolution, and the disciple's personal relation to his Master. It insists on devotion, trust and cooperation as paths of ascent, and presents Hierarchy as the 'ladder' joining the earthly and the cosmic. It also contains passages on the 'Mother of the World' and the figure of Maitreya. It is one of the keys to understanding the structure of authority in Agni Yoga.

Authorship note

The Agni Yoga tradition attributes the text to the Mahatma Morya, the 'Master' among the Mahatmas of Theosophy, and presents Helena Roerich as its recipient and recorder: she said she received the paragraphs by 'clairaudience' and noted them in her notebooks, from which each book was selected and arranged with the family's collaboration. The book was published without an author's name. For historical scholarship (Andreyev, 2014) it is the work of Helena Roerich and her circle; legally, copyright is reckoned from Helena's death (1955).
