Diogenes of Sinope
The Jackdaw
Written work
The Jackdaw
Κολοιός

A dialogue known only by its title, which names a bird associated in Greek proverbs with chatter and vanity ("jackdaw to jackdaw"). Nothing is known of its content; any interpretation of the title is conjecture.
No edition of this work is currently on sale in a store we have been able to verify.
Authorship note
Lost work. Only the title survives, transmitted by Diogenes Laertius (VI 80). Sosicrates and Satyrus denied that Diogenes wrote anything, and Sotion gave a different list; authorship is therefore uncertain.
