On Death

Περὶ θανάτου

Mosaico de Diógenes (Colonia)
byDiogenes of Sinope

A title known only from Diogenes Laertius' list. Tradition attributes to Diogenes the idea that death is not an evil because, when it is present, we do not perceive it (VI 68), and his indifference to burial, related by Cicero; it is not known whether these came from this work.

Authorship note

Lost work. Only the title survives, transmitted by Diogenes Laertius (VI 80). Sosicrates and Satyrus denied that Diogenes wrote anything, and Sotion gave a different list; authorship is therefore uncertain.
