Manuscript

Short Treatise on God, Man and His Well-Being

Korte verhandeling van God, de mensch en deszelvs welstand

Retrato anónimo de Spinoza (Wolfenbüttel)
byBaruch Spinoza

The first systematic exposition of his philosophy, written for his circle of friends: the existence and attributes of God, natura naturans and natura naturata, the passions, knowledge, freedom and union with God. It contains two dialogues between Intellect, Love, Reason and Lust, and a geometrical appendix. It shows many theses of the Ethics in embryonic form and allows the development of his thought to be traced.
