Imitation of Christ, Book I: Admonitions Useful for the Spiritual Life

Admonitiones ad spiritualem vitam utiles (De imitatione Christi, liber I)

Thomas a Kempis escribiendo (miniatura de la Imitación)
byThomas à Kempis

Twenty-five chapters of counsel for the beginner: to imitate the life of Christ, to despise vanity, to know oneself humbly, to prefer feeling compunction to knowing how to define it, to love solitude and silence, to think of death and judgement. It contains the most quoted sentences of the work, such as 'how quickly the glory of the world passes away'.
