Thomas à Kempis
Imitation of Christ, Book III: On Inner Consolation
Written work
Imitation of Christ, Book III: On Inner Consolation
De interna consolatione (De imitatione Christi, liber III)

The longest and most personal book (fifty-nine chapters): a dialogue between Christ and the disciple on the truth that speaks within without noise of words, the wonderful effects of divine love, patience, inner freedom and the surrender of one's own will. The chapter on love ('love is a great thing') is one of the most read texts of Christian spirituality.
