Mosaico de Diógenes (Colonia)
byDiogenes of Sinope

A title in Sotion's list. Begging was part of Diogenes' practice: according to Laertius, he asked his friends not for alms but for repayment of what was due to him (VI 46) and begged from statues to get used to refusal (VI 49). The writing is lost.

Authorship note

Lost work. It appears only in the list of Sotion (Book VII of his Succession of Philosophers), who according to Diogenes Laertius (VI 80) held only these titles to be genuine; Sosicrates and Satyrus denied that Diogenes wrote anything.
