Freedom in Exile

El Dalai Lama en 2012
byThe 14th Dalai Lama (Tenzin Gyatso)

His second autobiography, published shortly after the Nobel Prize and written with the help of the editor Alexander Norman. It revisits the history of 1950–1959 with greater distance and tells of thirty years of exile, the rebuilding of Tibetan institutions in India, his travels, his first meetings with scientists and his Middle Way proposal. It is the most cited autobiographical source and the basis of much later biography, including on film.
