Treatise on the Rainbow (lost)
Tractatus de iride

A treatise on the optics of the rainbow, consistent with his trade as a lens grinder and with his letters on optics to Hudde and Jelles. Some scholars have proposed identifying it with the anonymous booklet Stelkonstige reeckening van den regenboog (1687), a disputed hypothesis.

Authorship note
The editors of the Opera posthuma mention it among the unpublished writings; according to Colerus, who learned it from the Van der Spyck family, Spinoza threw it into the fire some six months before his death.
