Retrato de Santa Teresa de Jesús por fray Juan de la Miseria (1576)
byTeresa of Ávila

A short legislative text organising the life of the Discalced nuns: timetable, daily mental prayer, poverty, enclosure, manual work, common recreation and the prioress's government. More than a code, it is a portrait of the community Teresa wanted: small, cheerful and without endowments.
