Περὶ κριτηρίου ἢ Κανών

Cabeza de Epicuro (Metropolitan Museum)
byEpicurus

A lost work in which Epicurus set out his theory of knowledge, the "canonic": the criteria of truth are sensations, preconceptions (prolepseis) and the feelings of pleasure and pain (Diogenes Laertius X 31). According to Ariston, he took it from Nausiphanes' Tripod (X 14).
