Diogenes of Sinope
Aristarchus
Written work
Aristarchus
Ἀρίσταρχος

A dialogue cited in both ancient lists, those of Diogenes Laertius and Sotion. Neither the character who gives it its name nor its subject is known; its presence in both lists makes it, with Cephalion, Pordalus and the Erotikos, one of the firmest titles.

Authorship note
Lost work. Only the title survives, transmitted by Diogenes Laertius (VI 80). Sosicrates and Satyrus denied that Diogenes wrote anything, and Sotion gave a different list; authorship is therefore uncertain. It also appears in Sotion's list.
