Juvenile pamphlet published in London by Golden Vista Press when Watts was seventeen and frequenting Christmas Humphreys's Buddhist Lodge. It is his first printed text on Zen, written before any personal contact with Japanese teachers, and already shows his wish to popularise Buddhism for English readers.
