Essay setting out the non-dual metaphysics of Vedanta and Mahayana Buddhism and comparing it with Christianity, indebted to the perennialism of Ananda Coomaraswamy and René Guénon. Watts argues that the 'supreme identity' between the human being and the divine ground is the common core of the great traditions. Reissued in 1972 with a new preface.
