Ennead IV.1 [21]: On the essence of the soul, I
Περὶ οὐσίας ψυχῆς πρῶτον

A very short text (in some editions swapped with IV.2) explaining why the soul is said to be intermediate between the indivisible essence and the essence divisible in bodies, according to the Timaeus (35a). It is the last of the twenty-one treatises written before Porphyry's arrival.
