Cabeza de mármol identificada con Plotino (Ostia, inv. 436)

Notes taken by Amelius during his twenty-four years at the school in Rome, preserving Plotinus' oral teaching, including that of the ten years in which he did not write. Porphyry relates that Amelius would not allow them to be published and bequeathed them to his adopted son.

Authorship note

A compilation by Amelius Gentilianus, not by Plotinus; Porphyry (Life 3) says he gathered nearly a hundred books of scholia from the lectures. It is lost.
