Nāgārjuna, de la serie de los patriarcas shingon de Tōji
byNāgārjuna

A prose commentary on the Mūlamadhyamakakārikā preserved only in Tibetan, probably the oldest of the Indian commentaries surviving in that language. It explains the verses one by one in a terse manner and shares many passages with Buddhapālita's commentary, which fuels debate about which depends on which.

Authorship note

Tibetan tradition ascribes it to Nāgārjuna, but specialists regard it as a later commentary, related to Buddhapālita's. Kumārajīva's biography mentions a "Fearless Treatise" of a hundred thousand verses from which the Middle Treatise came forth, an unidentified work.
