Maxims (Counsels)
Avisos

Sixty-nine counsels for religious life (on silence, humility, charity in community) in a sententious tone foreign to Teresa's digressive style, which has cast doubt on their authorship. They are included here as an attributed work, part of the published corpus since 1588.
No edition of this work is currently on sale in a store we have been able to verify.
Authorship note
A collection of short maxims published by Fray Luis de León in 1588. Modern scholarship (Efrén/Steggink, Tomás Álvarez) holds that much of it is not Teresa's but from her Carmelite circle; only a core is accepted as hers.
