Transcendent Wisdom: A Commentary on the Ninth Chapter of Shantideva's Guide to the Bodhisattva Way of Life
An oral teaching given in India in 1979 on the ninth chapter of Shantideva's Bodhicaryavatara, the chapter on wisdom. It is the hardest part of the book, and the Dalai Lama works through it verse by verse: the refutation of a substantial self, the objections of other schools and emptiness as the ground of compassion. Demanding but very clear.
