Urteil
Es steht nicht im Werk von Jesus of Nazareth
It is often attributed to Jesus or the Bible, but it appears in no biblical text. The widespread English wording comes from Algernon Sidney (1698) and Benjamin Franklin's Poor Richard's Almanack (1736); the idea has precedents in Greek antiquity.
Quelle: Franklin, Benjamin. Poor Richard's Almanack, Filadelfia, 1736 («God helps them that help themselves»); antecedente en Algernon Sidney, Discourses Concerning Government, 1698.
