Kapila
Kapila Smṛti
Traditional attribution
Kapila Smṛti
कपिलस्मृति

A text of law and conduct (dharma) included in the Smṛti-sandarbha collection of minor smṛtis. Its ascription to Kapila is one more among the many that associated his name with rules for ascetic life: the Baudhāyana Dharmasūtra already ascribed rules for renouncers to him. There is no critical study of its date or content.

Authorship note
A brief normative treatise ascribed to Kapila, included in collections of minor smṛtis. A traditional ascription, undated.
