Meetings with Remarkable Men

Встречи с замечательными людьми / Meetings with Remarkable Men

Retrato de G. I. Gurdjieff, 1925
byG. I. Gurdjieff

A memoir of youth organised as portraits: the bard father, Dean Borsh, Prince Yuri Lubovedsky, Professor Skridlov, Ekim Bey and other companions among the 'Seekers of Truth', up to the arrival at the monastery of the Sarmoung Brotherhood. It is at once autobiography, adventure story and training manual: each meeting teaches a quality. Critics agree it should not be read as literal chronicle; none of its exotic episodes has independent documentary confirmation. Peter Brook filmed it in 1979.
