The first volume of the Opera philosophica et mineralia: a mechanical cosmology that derives the universe from a 'natural point' and successive particles in spiral motion, and includes a nebular hypothesis on the formation of the solar system from the Sun, earlier than those of Kant and Laplace. It is the work that gave him standing as a natural philosopher in Europe.
