Семейное счастие

Leo Tolstoy

Short novel narrated by Masha, a young woman who marries Sergei Mikhailovich, a family friend and guardian much older than herself. After the first idyll, the boredom of the country and the temptations of society life in St Petersburg extinguish passionate love, which turns into a calm affection centred on the children.
