It sets out the planes of nature, the bodies of man, reincarnation, karma, the law of sacrifice, the ascent of man and the building of the kosmos, with an expository clarity Blavatsky never had. It was the training text of several generations of Theosophists and the way many readers—among them artists such as Kandinsky and Mondrian—came to know the doctrine.
