Evolution of Life and Form

Annie Besant

It confronts Darwinian evolution with the Hindu and Theosophical doctrine of the evolution of life through forms: the descent of spirit into matter, the building of forms by the creative Logoi, the law of sacrifice (yajna) and the ascent of consciousness, so that biology is read as the outer side of an inner unfolding.
