Milarepa
Milarepa's most quoted sentence in the West, used as an epigraph by Shambhala and on countless pages, could not be located in that wording either in the Namthar (Lhalungpa, Quintman) or in the Mgur 'bum (Chang). It faithfully conveys the sense of his final teaching but is recorded as unverified.
Milarepa
«Whoever says that Milarepa possessed gold, let him fill his mouth with excrement.»
«Seeing this Life, one is freed from the eight worldly concerns. Hearing it, faith arises of itself. Recollecting it, entanglements are severed at the root.»
«My temple is a nameless cave; my clothing, a cotton cloth; my food, the nettles at the door. If others pity me, they do not know what I know.»
10; Chang, vol. 1, canciones de la etapa de retiro). Paráfrasis del sentido, no cita literal
