Reverse Perspective
Обратная перспектива

A 1919 essay explaining the 'reverse' perspective of icons — lines diverging towards the background, several viewpoints — not as technical clumsiness but as the representation of a spiritual space, and criticising Renaissance linear perspective as the expression of an individualism that views the world from a single point. Published in 1967 in Tartu, it influenced art history and semiotics.
