Ramana Maharshi के नाम से प्रचलित

«Wanting to reform the world without discovering one's true self is like trying to cover the world with leather to avoid the pain of walking on stones; it is much simpler to wear shoes.»

निष्कर्ष

यह Ramana Maharshi की रचनाओं में नहीं है

Widely circulated online under his name, but it does not appear in the Talks, the Gospel or the collected works. The image of leather covering the earth comes from Shantideva's Bodhicharyavatara (V, 12–13), an eighth-century Buddhist text.

स्रोत: Shantideva. Bodhicharyavatara (s. VIII), cap. V, estrofas 12–13 (imagen de cubrir la tierra de cuero frente a calzarse).
