byVyasa

An appendix to the Mahābhārata that narrates the lineage of Hari (Viṣṇu-Kṛṣṇa) and, above all, Kṛṣṇa's childhood and youth among the herders of Vraja, which the main poem barely tells. It is one of the oldest sources of Kṛṣṇa mythology, later developed by the Bhāgavata Purāṇa.
