Not Always So
Not Always So: Practicing the True Spirit of Zen

The second major anthology of talks, prepared by Edward Espe Brown—Tassajara's cook and Suzuki's disciple—from transcriptions not used in Zen Mind. The title echoes one of his favourite formulas: the truth of a moment is not always so. It deals with goalless practice, acceptance of impermanence and the everyday ethics of Zen.
