Āgama Prakaraṇa (chapter I: the revealed tradition)
Written work
Āgama Prakaraṇa (chapter I: the revealed tradition)
आगमप्रकरण

Twenty-nine verses interspersed with the twelve paragraphs of the Māṇḍūkya Upaniṣad. It describes the ātman in waking (viśva), dreaming (taijasa) and deep sleep (prājña), and the non-dual "fourth" (turīya), which is neither cause nor effect; it reviews the current theories of creation — expansion, dream, illusion, divine will, time — and identifies the states with the sounds A, U and M of the syllable Om, whose final silence is turīya.

Authorship note
First chapter of the Kārikā. Madhva and the Viśiṣṭādvaita tradition regarded part of its verses as revelation (śruti); Bhattacharya even proposed that the Upaniṣad itself derives from them.
