The Way of Chuang Tzu
Free renderings of passages from the Zhuangzi made by Merton from several Western translations, with the advice of the jurist and sinologist John C. H. Wu. Not a philological translation but a poetic re-creation he counted among his favourite books, it did much to spread Taoism among Christian readers.
No edition of this work is currently on sale in a store we have been able to verify.
Authorship note
Merton's free interpretations of the text attributed to Zhuangzi (4th c. BCE), not a direct translation from the Chinese.
