Life of Pythagoras (Porphyry)

Pythagoras

It covers the origin, education, arrival in Italy, the marvels (the Daunian she-bear, the fish, the greeting of the river Caucasus, the simultaneous presence in Metapontum and Tauromenium), the teaching through symbols, Pythagorean friendship and Cylon's conspiracy, naming its sources: Aristoxenus, Dicaearchus, Nicomachus, Neanthes, Antonius Diogenes.
