La Vie de Ramakrishna
Rolland reads Ramakrishna as the culmination of universal mysticism and sets him in dialogue with Christian tradition and the psychology of his day. His literary prestige was decisive for the European reception of the saint and of Vivekananda, to whom he devoted the next volume.
