Three Meetings
Vladimir Solovyov
An autobiographical poem written at Pustynka in September 1898 and published in 1899. In a tone at once ironic and solemn it tells his three visions of divine Wisdom: in the Moscow University church at the age of nine, in the British Museum Reading Room in 1875 and in the Egyptian desert on the night when, lost and cold, he saw her whole. It is the main source on his mystical experience.
