Ennead IV.7 [2]: On the immortality of the soul

Plotinus

His second treatise and one of the fullest ancient demonstrations of immortality. It refutes the views that the soul is a body, as Stoics and Epicureans held, a harmony of the body or an entelechy in Aristotle's sense, and concludes that, being incorporeal and the principle of life, it cannot perish.
