Ennead III.7 [45]: On eternity and time

Plotinus

One of the most influential treatises. Eternity is the life of Intellect, "all together", without past or future; time is the life of soul in its movement from one state to another, the moving image of eternity. It criticises the definitions of Aristotle (number of motion) and of the Stoics.
